Paper Machine Cylinder Mold

In the high-speed operation of modern papermaking machines, there is a crucial forming component that determines the initial “birth” form of the paper. This is the cylinder mold, mainly used in cylinder mould papermaking machines, and is an important distinguishing feature from fourdrinier paper making machines.

 

Cylinder Mold Working Process

 

1. Immersion and Sizing: Approximately one-third of the cylindrical cylinder mold is immersed in a wire mesh tank filled with diluted pulp.

2. Dewatering and Forming: As the cylinder mold rotates, the vacuum created inside draws water through the mesh and drains it out, while the pulp fibers are trapped on the surface of the cylinder mold, gradually forming a uniform wet felt.

3. Transfer: This initially formed wet sheet is peeled off and transferred to the subsequent pressing and drying parts as the cylinder mold rotates and comes into contact with the felt.
